The building at 6655 Beta Drive in Mayfield Village was an existing property built in the 1970’s that had been vacant for a few years. The objective was to refurbish 72,988 SF of this property to the needs of Quality Electrodynamics, a leader in their field of MRI technology, and provide a first-class, technologically advanced space for their continued success.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Quality Electrodynamics (QED) required to move their current operations into one contiguous, state of-the-art space for their advanced medical equipment manufacturing needs and remain locatedin Mayfield Village.
  • QED required humidity controlled rooms for their 3D printing needs, as well as a better equipped space to operate more efficiently with a more connected front and back office.

OBJECTIVES / CHALLENGES:

  • The structural engineering requirements for all of the necessary renovation aspects were challenging including the open 28’ deck heights.

RESULTS:

  • In roughly 130 days, Premier Development Partners was able to complete an extensive $3 million interior and exterior renovation. They removed a second floor mezzanine office space and removed eight docks, added an elevator, 230 feet of linear windows to the west end of the building, an exterior patio, a circle driveway, and repaved and relined the parking lot. In addition, they added an employee entrance with a canopy, connected the front and back offices by removing a 29’ wall by a joist to carry the load of the wall that was removed, and added 16 rooftop units for heating and cooling needs.
