Premier Development Partners is proud to announce the sale of 28 acres in Oakwood Village to The Kroger Company, who plans to establish an automated customer fulfillment center (CFC) on the site at Alexander Road, adjacent to I-480.

Our team worked closely with Mayor Gottschalk of Oakwood Village to ensure a very reputable company like Kroger acquired the site, bringing in over 400 employees to the Oakwood community and a substantial payroll.”

Kroger is in the process of constructing CFCs across the county, bringing jobs and fresh food options to communities up to 90 miles away from each site. The new Oakwood Village CFC is expected to create 400 jobs in Northeast Ohio. Kroger also plans to donate a million dollars over the upcoming years to introduce local youth to STEM topics such as robotics and artificial intelligence.

These CFCs utilize cutting edge robotics and logistics technology to automate the fulfillment of online orders. Kroger has partnered with UK-based Ocado Group to bring their proprietary technology solution to the US. Over 1,000 bots move around on a 3-D grid to retrieve the selected products for each order. The order is then packaged and delivered by trained Kroger employees.
